Beyonce deserves props for the new merch photo shoot on her website. Instead of casting the same models that are seen everywhere, she used some new faces, one of which belongs to Jillian Mercado, who has muscular dystrophy.
The ads are for clothing that go along with the superstar’s latest single, “Formation.” Mercado, who is represented by IMG and has worked on a Diesel campaign, along with shoots for Nordstrom and CR Fashion Book before, shared the news on her Instagram.
Along with a screen grab of Beyonce’s website featuring herself along with two other models, Mercado wrote, “So BEYond excited to finally announce that I’m on the official @beyonce website!!! A special shout out to Queen Bee herself and the amazing team behind it.” She wears a “Hot Sauce” cap and sweatshirts emblazoned with, “I Twirl on Them Haters,” and “Smack It,” among other merch. Cheers to Beyonce and her team for their open minds.
