
The Grammys are known for their double-take worthy pairings, but sometimes the groupings aren’t so much WTF as just a nice and easy no-brainer.
Case in point: When Beyonce and Tina Turner took the stage together at the 2008 ceremony. Beyonce gave a sultry intro with a little jazzed up “Crazy in Love” before the two divas joined together for a high-energy run through of “Proud Mary.”

Beyonce has been all over the Grammy stage for years (as if you could possibly forget last year’s “Drunk In Love” — CBS’ censors surely didn’t!). But while her individual performances are already great, the real treats are Bey with some of her obvious idols. Unfortunate side note: Her 2004 duet with Prince is pretty much scrubbed from the Internet.
For this week’s special Grammy Throwback Thursday, we’re re-watching Beyonce and Tina Turner showing the whole auditorium how it’s done. Enjoy, and cross your fingers for another Bey showstopper this weekend — she’ll reportedly perform as part of a Selma tribute.
