When it’s Queen Bey’s b’day, you can be certain her cake is fit for royalty.
Beyonce spent her big day in Philadelphia as JAY-Z’s Made in America fest swung into town. And to mark the occasion, the city’s Cake Life Bake Shop had the honor of creating a special treat. No pressure then.
The shop owners told Philly Mag they got a mysterious request for a black and yellow cake with a geode theme, which the shop is famous for. “Making the cake is a two-day process,” co-owner Lily Fischer told Page Six. “The geode cakes start at $3,500 and go up in price depending on detail, complexity, and size.”
Having correctly guessed who the order was for, they totally delivered the goods with a three-tier, honey lavender-flavored delight with edible sugar crystals, complete with cookies shaped like beehives and topped with a golden crown like the one she wore to the Grammys earlier this year.
