The catalog of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur continues to grow. The late artist’s 10th album and the sixth released since his murder in September 1996 will be the double-disc “Better Dayz,” due Nov. 26 from Amaru Entertainment/Interscope/Tha Row.
“Better Dayz” is the follow-up to last year’s “Until the End of Time,” which debuted atop The Billboard 200 in April 2001 and has sold 1.9 million copies in the U.S. to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Like that set, “Better Dayz” is comprised of songs partially recorded between 1994-1996, with production and guest rappers added posthumously.
Nas, Trick Daddy, Mya, Ronald “Mr. Biggs” Isley, Tyrese, and the Outlawz contribute guest shots to the 25-track set, which features production from the likes of 7 Aurelius, DJ Quik, Jazze Pha, Johnny ‘J’, and BRISS. Tha Row CEO Suge Knight and Shakur’s mother Afeni Shakur served as executive producers for the project.
The album’s first single is “Thugz Mansion,” which features singing by Anthony Hamilton and was released to radio this week. A remix of “My Block” has also been tapped as a tentative second single, and a music video is being shot for the track.
