Modern rock veterans Better Than Ezra have lined up a host of tour dates in support of their new Beyond album, “Closer,” due Aug. 7. The trek begins July 28 in Omaha, Neb., and runs through an Oct. 26 date in Birmingham, Ala.
“Closer” is led by the single “Extra Ordinary,” which is No. 25 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart and No. 36 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart this week. The set, produced by Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins) and Ethan Allen (Tricky), is the follow-up to the group’s final set for Elektra, “How Does Your Garden Grow?,” which debuted at No. 129 on The Billboard 200 in 1998.
Clips from “Extra Ordinary” are available on Better Than Ezra’s official Web site.
