The global coronavirus pandemic may have led to the cancellation of trick or treating and numerous parties this Halloween, but that didn’t stop people from dressing up in elaborate costumes — especially musicians.
Take Cardi B, for instance, who got tongues … err … slithering with her elaborate Medusa getup. The rapper showed off her sexy and scary look the day before Halloween, revealing a headpiece that featured golden snakes, and a skin-tight and snakelike bottom piece. Her husband, Offset, meanwhile, could’ve easily passed for Jim Carrey’s The Mask when the duo hit up a Halloween shindig.
Then there was Ciara and husband Russell Wilson. She and her NFL superstar husband dropped jaws as Janet Jackson and Busta Rhymes from the duo’s 1999 video for his hit “What’s It Gonna Be?!” Rhymes was so impressed with the pair’s costumes that he shared their photo on Instagram and gave them a shout-out: “Thank you for the love for me and the Royal Empress! … You got the dreads locks right too King.”
The Weeknd also impressed by dressing up as Eddie Murphy’s the Nutty Professor, nailing the costume with not just the outfit, but also the character’s extra pounds and mannerisms. The whole package earned a compliment from Kendall Jenner, who commented on his Instagram video, “best dressed.”
And these were just a few of the many notable costumes. From Halsey’s Corpse Bride to Jason Aldean’s Joe Exotic to Lil Nas X’s Nicki Minaj and beyond, many musicians got into the spirit of the spooky holiday with detailed makeup and costumes.
