The Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business at Nashville’s Belmont University will host the 2009 Country Showcase on Feb. 21. The 7 p.m. show will be held in the campus’ Curb Event Center.
The show will include performances by four of Belmont’s most talented up-and-coming country performers and will celebrate the college’s unique hands-on educational opportunity.
The 2009 Country Showcase is a component of Belmont University’s Showcase Series which includes five other genres – Christian, urban/pop, rock, alumni and best of the best. Each event is entirely produced by students enrolled in audio engineering, production, audio/visual production and music business programs. Performing students participate in a rigorous application and audition process and are selected based upon their proficiency in voice, songwriting, stage presence and business expertise.
Performances are judged by industry experts who have previously included hit songwriter Rivers Rutherford and Steven Curtis Chapman.
Trisha Yearwood, Brad Paisley, Josh Turner are among the crop of country stars that attended Belmont.
