The eventual arrival of summer is small comfort during the coldest winter months, but the rapid-fire announcement of festival lineups makes it seem a little more real. Following reveals of the artists playing Coachella, Governors Ball, and on Tuesday (Jan. 13) Bonnaroo, Boston Calling Music Festival has unveiled performers including Beck, the Pixies, My Morning Jacket, Tenacious D, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, and Tame Impala, among others.
Starting today (Jan. 14) at noon EST, early bird tickets will be available with the promo code “BOSTON” on Boston Calling’s website for the festival, which takes place May 22-24. This will likely be the first of two Boston Callings, since its inaugural edition in 2013 and its second year in 2014 saw a festival on Memorial Day and one on Labor Day, each with different lineups. Last year each weekend also expanded to include Friday and a couple thousand extra tickets each day.
“As we head into our fifth Boston Calling, we’re proud of the lineup and of the exceptionally talented songwriters and musicians performing. We can’t wait to bring everyone together over Memorial Day weekend,” says Brian Appel, co-founder of Crash Line Productions, which puts on the festival. As usual, the festival will be curated by the National‘s Aaron Dessner.
There is one thing different about this festival: no overlapping sets. Check out the full lineup below, along with the official announcement video.
