SiriusXM has teamed up with Beatport for the new satellite radio show Pitch Control: Powered by Beatport. It premiered Sunday night and the show is intended to showcase the breadth of the Beatport catalog, the scene’s hottest tracks and the platform’s European-influenced sound. Pitch Control will air on SiriusXM’s commercial electronic music-focused station BPM every Sunday at 11 p.m. ET.
Pitch Control: Powered by Beatport is hosted by the Los Angeles-based Andrew Ortiz, also known as DJ Drew. Ortiz is the Dance Curator at Beatsource, the Beatport initiative launched in 2019 that curates music for open-format DJs.
Ortiz is programming the show alongside Beatport’s Berlin-based curation team, led by Raphael Pujol, along with SiriusXM program director Edwin Paredes, SiriusXM’s vice president of EDM programming Geronimo and program director Rida Naser.
“So many U.S.-based electronic music fans are thirsty for the best underground electronic music tracks that will likely be the next big dance floor hits,”Beatport CEO Robb McDaniels says in a statement, “and our world-class curation team and Beatsource’s expert staff are the perfect combination to deliver the goods on a weekly basis.”
