Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson has unveiled three “Greatest Hits” concerts for the United Kingdom this summer.
Wilson, who premiered his highly acclaimed new work “That Lucky Old Sun (A Narrative)” last September at London’s Royal Festival Hall, will play at this year’s Kenwood Concert, an annual outdoor event in North London, on June 28.
It will be followed by performances at the Regent Theatre in the eastern English city of Ipswich (June 29) and London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall (July 1).
The repertoire covered is expected to include both his own compositions and the Beach Boys’ greatest hits.
These three gigs represent Wilson’s eighth return to the United Kingdom, where he played before the Queen during the 2002 Jubilee Concert. In February 2004, he performed the then unreleased symphonic work “Smile,” which later became a hit album selling nearly 1 million copies globally. Wilson was inducted into the U.K. Music Hall of Fame in 2006.
