B.B. King will return to the stage in a series of arena concerts in the U.K., three years after announcing his retirement from international touring.
According to a statement, “popular demand ” has led the 83-year old blues legend to schedule a four-city double bill with British blues maestro John Mayall. The dates are at Manchester MEN Arena (June 24), Birmingham NIA Arena (June 25), Cardiff CIA (June 27) and London Wembley Arena (June 28).
The tour will be promoted by Kennedy St Enterprises and Live Nation and booked by William Morris Agency.
In October 2005, it was reported that B.B. King’s March/April tour of the U.K. would be his last and in January 2006 it was confirmed he would cease international shows.
