 Patent Pending Wins The 2012 Battle of the Bands!
We scouted the U.S. to find 2012’s most promising unsigned acts, and Billboard.com visitors named their six favorites, one from each region: Saints of Valory , Savannah Outen , Patent Pending , After The Smoke , Take The Day and Doe Eye. All six finalists traveled to Las Vegas to perform at the Battle of the Bands showdown on May 18 at the Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The judges deliberated, fans voted at the show and online, and finally U.K. hitmaker Taio Cruz named Patent Pending the official winner. The group from the northeast took home the trophy, and you can watch their whole journey to the prize — a performance at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards on May 20! –in the player below!
