The Bataclan is coming back. Five months after 89 people were killed at a tragic Eagles of Death Metal concert, the Parisian venue has announced plans to reopen later this year.
On Nov. 16, the concert hall will host a solo performance from Libertines frontman Pete Doherty. After that, the Bataclan’s official Facebook page confirmed performances from Youssou N’Dour on Nov. 18, Nada Surf on Dec. 2 and MZ on Dec. 3.

The Facebook post also announced that the venue’s renovation process is underway. It noted that the exact date of reopening is not yet confirmed, so the Nov. 16 Doherty concert may not necessarily be its first show back. More events will be announced soon on the Bataclan’s official site.
Following the attacks, EODM frontman Jesse Hughes expressed interest in being the first band to play the Bataclan once it eventually reopened.
Today’s message ended with the Bataclan saluting the victims and families of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks. In all, 130 lives were lost in the massacre, which began at the Stade de France, a stadium just north of Paris.
