Bastille dropped an instrospective new tune on Tuesday (June 4), “Those Nights,” and an equally compelling music video.
The clip shows singer Dan Smith on an old sofa with “Doom Days” scribbled across the back, as he sings into a dimly lit room full of unconsious bodies. The dizzying effect of the spinning camera adds to the feeling of searching for something meaningful amidst life’s chaos.
“Those nights when your friends are gone/When you’re holding on for someone to leave with/Those nights when you crave someone/To be there at dawn, to wake with, ’cause aren’t we all just/Looking for a little bit of hope these days?” the chorus rings.
“Those Nights” follows the recent release, “Joy,” and both will be featured on the band’s upcoming album, Doom Days, out June 14. Watch the new music video below.
