Bandname.com, the New York-based virtual band-name registration company, is enhancing its offering with the addition of a chart-eligible digital store facility.
The company is bowing the bespoke, self-managed, digital store option to its platform in a move which is designed to allow its users to sell music downloads direct from their artist sites. Bandname.com boasts more than two million users, including 500,000 active bands and artists.
“The artist controls the process from beginning to end,” comments Paul Berrrow co-founder of bandname.com. “They fix the price, format and digital rights management capability and we enact all the commercial activities for the download, card processing and SMS.”
Bandname.com, which recently acquired its opposite number in the United Kingdom — the Band Register — is additionally developing a raft of self-managed platforms for its artist community.
