To help boost audience awareness of “Red Tails,” the film about the Tuskegee Airmen self-financed by filmmaker George Lucas, rapper/entrepreneur Snoop Dogg hosted a private screening (Jan. 19) in tandem with Lucasfilm at the Arclight in Hollywood for about 200 invitees. Distributed by 20th Century Fox, “Red Tails” finished second in last weekend’s (Jan. 20) box office derby with $18.8 million after first-place winner “Underworld Awakening” at $25.3 million (source: THR/Rentrak).

Giving a shout-out to Lucas before the screening, Snoop Dogg added, “This is a special film. It gives you a real history lesson as to why African-Americans are such an important part of history. Tweet, Facebook, spread the word. This movie needs to be seen and talked about.”
