Spanish diva Paloma San Basilio performed in Miami ‘s James L. Knight Center June 1 as part of her “Hasta Siempre” (‘Til Forever) farewell world tour. The show was presented by NYK Concerts which recently presented Alejandro Sanz at the Miami Arena.
San Basilio, who aside from her trajectory as a pop singer also played the original role of Eva Perón in the Spanish-language version of the theater production of Evita, has been touring theaters throughout Latin America in what she says is her last outing.

In Miami, she performed a retrospective of her work—as well as her life story–in a setting that was part cabaret, part concert and part musical theater, incorporating acting, dancing and music.
San Basilio’s performance at the James L. Knight also brought fresh attention to the venue, which seats 4,600 and has long been a favorite for Latin acts, but had been unusually quiet in the past two years. Last October, SMG took over the venue’s operation and appointed Robert Murray as GM, who has been working to revitalize the Center. Murray was previously GM for the James L. Knight from 2000-2007. Since Murray’s reincorporation, the venue has hosted 42 shows. Upcoming concerts at the venue include Chaka Khan, Mindelss Behavior and Toni Braxton.
