Backbeat: Leadership Music Welcomes Class of 2012 in Nashville
Alumni of Leadership Music, the Nashville-based group of music industry professionals, gathered Tuesday evening to welcome the Class of 2012. With open bars on either side of the hall and a spread of food in its center, the spacious room at the Noah Liff Opera Center in Nashville buzzed as industry professionals talked shop, caught up with old friends and met the incoming class.
Not pictured is Cliff O’Sullivan, the new Sugar Hill Records GM and a recent transplant from Los Angeles, showing off a smartphone picture of his new morning commute: a two-lane country road with not a car in site. Bryan Calhoun, VP at SoundExchange and a member of the Class of 2012, made what will be his first of many trips from Washington, D.C. to attend the event. Also in attendance were Kent Marcus (music attorney), Ken Paulson (president and CEO, First Amendment Center), John Allen (Bug Music VP), Sally Williams (Ryman Auditorium GM), Brad Bissell (CAA) and Jenn Schott (songwriter).
