Anberlin has just kicked off a tour with rocker friends Switchfoot, visiting New York’s Best Buy Theater on Sept. 25. (Atomic Tom lent additional support.) Although Anberlin is planning to release its next album early summer 2012, it’s still taking time to do charity work during the tour. By teaming with the organization Downtime, which pairs artists with worthy causes, the band is turning its meet-and-greets into experiences where fans can spend time with the group while lending a hand to charities like Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America and Make a Wish. Backstage after the show are (standing, from left) Anberlin guitarist Joseph Milligan, Universal Republic Records VP of A&R Nate Albert, Anberlin drummer Nate Young and bassist Deon Rexroat, and ICM booking agent Nick Storch. Seated (from left) are Anberlin guitarist Christian McAlhaney, manager Kyle Griner of Arson Media Group and vocalist Stephen Christian. (Photo: Christa Titus)
