Elm City Music act Adrenaline Mob can count itself among the last bands who will have played New York’s Hiro Ballroom, which closes March 31. The metal supergroup threw the CD release party for debut album Omertá at the venue on March 12, the day before the record hit stores, and played the album in its entirety.

Before the Mob hits the road for European dates in June, drummer Mike Portnoy will join Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and guitarist Kerry King, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello and drummer Charlie Benante, and Megadeth bassist David Ellefson on April 12 for “Metal Masters 3” at the Key Club in Hollywood. The “Metal Masters” clinic series-sponsored by Samson Technologies, Hartke and Zoom-unites the genre’s virtuosos so they can discuss their performance techniques with aspiring musicians and fans.
