In Sweden, when a tune is sick, dank, or dope, they say it’s “mode.” When Axwell decides it’s time to upgrade one of his classic bangers, it’s not a “remix,” it’s a “remode,” and that’s exactly what he’s serving up today.
Fans first heard Axwell and Shapov’s collaboration “Belong” in 2014. It was a spunky, synth-heavy festival house anthem, the kind of jam that makes thousands of people throw their hands in unison and reach for the stars. There was even an acoustic guitar breakdown as if to say “even this giant field can be a fireside sing-along.”
