Ever-elusive Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Wednesday night (Oct. 24) to deliver his first live TV interview in two decades. Promoting his band’s upcoming 12-date residency at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Rose talked about his inaugural voyage to Hollywood, his affinity for Halloween, and of course, his aversion to punctuality.
“You’re right on time – it’s unbelievable!” Kimmel joked when Rose took his seat, to which the singer replied, “It’s a miracle.” The singer then talked about moving to Hollywood at the age of 19, hitchhiking by himself and meeting some shady people along the way before winding up with a job at Tower Video on Sunset Boulevard.
After talking about his “Halloween tree” and answering fan questions about his stagecraft, Rose admitted that he’s not really interested in voting. “I’m in California, and that usually leans Democratic, and that’s usually where I lean anyway… I would lean Democrat, I would lean Obama,” the frontman admitted.
Finally, Rose finished up by discussing the current state of GN’R (and jokingly predicting which member would be the next one to leave the ever-revolving lineup), as well as reflecting on his collaboration with Neil Young at last week’s Bridge School Benefit concert. “He came out and did a song with us, because I’ve always liked the song of his, ‘Don’t Let It Bring You Down.’ And he agreed to sing it with us, and then when he came out singing, he’s just a powerhouse,” Rose gushed.

Guns N’ Roses’ Vegas residency kicks off on Oct. 31; dubbed “Appetite for Democracy,” the run celebrates the recent 25th anniversary of the group’s landmark album, “Appetite for Destruction.” GN’R was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, but Rose did not attend the ceremony.
