In the lead video from her first album in four years, Avril Lavigne going full-on bad girl. The Canadian pop star strips down, locks her boyfriend in the closet and steals a taxi in the just-released clip for “What The Hell” — and that’s all in the first minute.
Video: “What The Hell,” Avril Lavigne
Her hi-jinks continue, but they’re more typical for a girl like Avril: shopping, flirting with boys, performing in a dirty club. But Lavigne is a business woman, too, so it only makes sense that there’s a big plug for her clothing line, Abbey Dawn, about 2:15 into the “What The Hell” video.
According to a behind the scenes preview of “What The Hell” recently released on Lavigne’s YouTube, the video was shot in 3D, but from the looks of the results, it’s not terribly noticeable in this online version.
“What The Hell,” the first single off “Goodbye Lullaby” (March 8, RCA), debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 last week at No. 13, the Digital Songs chart at No. 6, the Adult Pop Songs chart at No. 32, and the Pop Songs chart at No. 38.
