Avicii Tribute Concert With Rita Ora, Adam Lambert & More Gets YouTube Live Stream

It’s been just less than two years since international superstar Tim Bergling, known to fans as Avicii, took his own life. The “Levels” producer and DJ was 28 years old, and his death has touched the world as much as his euphoric anthems. It kicked off a conversation about mental health awareness and suicide prevention within the music business and the whole of society, and on Thursday, Dec. 5, Bergling’s peers and collaborators will celebrate his life and work while highlighting that message with a tribute concert in the artist’s native Stockholm, Sweden.

Confirmed to perform are Rita Ora, Aloe Blacc, Adam Lambert, Dan Tyminski and surprise guests. Live audience members will also be treated to non-streamed DJ sets from David Guetta, Kygo, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Laidback Luke and Nicky Romero.

“We are grateful that his friends, producers, artists and colleagues are coming to Stockholm to help,” Bergling’s father Klas is quoted in a press release. “They have all expressed a sincere interest and desire to engage in efforts to stem the tide of mental illness and lend their support to our work with the Tim Bergling Foundation. We are very much looking forward to this evening, which will be a starting point for the foundation’s work going forward.”

Bergling’s parents founded the Tim Bergling Foundation after their son’s death in order to raise resources and awareness for mental health support. All net profits of the concert, which sold out 55,000 seats in 30 minutes, will benefit the foundation and organizations that help the cause.

“Every year, around 1,500 people take their own lives in Sweden and globally up to one million,” Bergling’s father continues. “It is a tragedy that affects families, communities and with long-term effects on relatives who live on in grief. It is a global crisis and the second most common cause of death among young people aged 15-29. We want this concert to help put the topic on the agenda and pay attention to the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide. Policies and tools are needed to detect the risks and prevent suicide, especially among young people.”

The Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness comes to the Friends Arena in Stockholm Thursday, Dec. 5.
