It’s been over a year since Avicii has released music, but that hiatus seems to be coming to end. The Swedish producer took to Instagram today (July 13) to record a clip of a new song, likely titled “Friend Of Mine”, while atop Machu Picchu with the caption, “new music coming (very) soon!”
The caption includes seven hashtags, potentially alluding to six new tracks on the way given “#NoParticularOrder” is the last hashtag. The first hashtag, “#FriendOfMine”, matches the lyrics heard in the video.
The country-styled song features acoustic strumming, a warm bass line and an infectious hook reminiscent of Avicii’s previous hits, “Hey Brother” and “Wake Me Up”. Listen to the track below:
Fast forward two weeks and we have a new clip from Avicii where he teases a song likely called “Lonely Together”.
