The Australasian Performing Right Assn. has tweaked its senior management team, with immediate effect.
Dean Ormston, previously director general licensing, will take on the new role of director corporate affairs and communications. He assumes responsibility for corporate and internal communications, government affairs and corporate responsibility (as company secretary).
Jenny Gome takes over as director of general licensing, based in the association’s Melbourne office. She was deputy director of general licensing.
Meanwhile, APRA’s media licensing department, helmed by its director Richard Mallett, has now been split into two departments — broadcast licensing and mechanical licensing. Mallett is now appointed director of mechanical licensing.
Richard Davison is promoted from deputy director media licensing to director, broadcast licensing.
“APRA has made significant strides in all areas of licensing over the last 18 months and these management changes reflect the progress we have made,” comments APRA CEO Brett Cottle in a statement. “We are fortunate to have an excellent blend of skills and experience in our management team and these changes will ensure that we remain focused on the tasks at hand, while enhancing the service we provide to our members, music users and other stakeholders.”
Sydney-based APRA is a not-for-profit company that collects performing royalties and (in association with AMCOS) mechanical royalties on behalf of its members. APRA was established in 1926 by composers, lyricists, songwriters and music publishers.
