Australian promoter Dainty Consolidated Entertainment and Sandalford Wines are toasting a new partnership which should add dozens of concert dates to the country’s maturing winery circuit.
DCE, Zaccaria Events Present, Ticketek and Sandalford Wines have struck a venue partnership for the wine maker’s Swan Valley and Margaret River Estates in Western Australia.
Through the new deal, DCE will stage at least six concerts in the Swan Valley and at least three shows at Sandalford’s new purpose-built outdoor concert amphitheatre at its Margaret River Estate during each annual season spanning the sunnier months from September to April. The pact runs from the 2010/2011 season through to 2015/2016.
Perth-based promoter ZEP will team with Sandalford to manage and market the concerts, while provides exclusive ticket distribution and associated marketing services to the venues for the next three years.
Sandalford will continue to invite other promoters to stage a further two “masthead events” at each of the Swan Valley and Margaret River wineries each season.
Dainty says the partnership provides “a brilliant option for a number of our top line touring artists,” who have included Whitney Houston and George Michael in recent months.
“In the year which Sandalford celebrates its 170th anniversary,” explains Sandalford Wines CEO Grant Brinklow, “we chose to partner with DCE to deliver artists to our operations because we felt their brand attributes and ours are in strong alignment.”
The first tour slated through the new arrangement is Michael Buble’s “Crazy Love” trek, which will visit the Swan Valley and Margaret River in March 2011.
Word on the grapevine down under is that the country’s wineries have real appeal with concert-going audiences and premier artists. One of the country’s best-known winery concert brands, Roundhouse Entertainment’s A Day On The Green, celebrated its 200th show and 1 millionth patron earlier this year.
