Buzz-worthy Australian electronic music producer Flume is returning for another crack at the U.S., and he’s got Europe in his sights.
The 21-year-old artist (real name Harley Streten) has revealed a 15-date tour of North American clubs, theaters and festivals, starting Aug. 24 at the Mezzanine in San Francisco and wrapping Sept. 14 at the new Laneway Festival in Rochester Hills.
Earlier, he’ll trek Europe for a 15-date string of shows starting July 3 at London’s Heaven and concluding July 21 at Ireland’s Longitude Festival. His three-month-long tour will include a stop in his homeland, to play the Splendour in the Grass fest which runs July 26-28 in Byron Bay.
It’s already been a busy year of touring for Flume. He’s just come-off his first trek of the States and completed his “Infinity Prism” tour of Australia – where he played to 35,000 fans, his reps say.
Flume is considered one of the top producers of his generation in Australia. But he raced clear to the head of the pack with the November 2012 release of his debut self-titled album. “Flume” opened at No. 2, held-off the top spot by One Direction. Earlier this year, the set climbed to No. 1 on the ARIA albums chart and is now platinum certified Down Under. The LP spawned the gold-certified singles “Sleepless” and “On Top” (ft T-Shirt), and the double-platinum certied “Holdin On,” all of which cracked the Triple J radio network’s “Hottest 100” poll of 2012.
To accompany news of his upcoming touring itinerary, Flume has dropped the new video for “On Top (ft. T-Shirt).” Watch the clip here:
