Audioslave has fleshed out the itinerary for its fall North American tour and selected South African rock act Seether as the opening act for the outing. Although a number of venues are still unconfirmed, the tour will begin Sept. 24 in Bakersfield, Calif., and run through Nov. 18 in Long Beach, Calif.
Seether has established itself as a big player on rock radio this year with the single “Remedy,” which has spent eight weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. The Wind-Up album from which it is drawn, “Karma and Effect,” has sold 364,000 copies in the United States since its late May release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Along the way, Audioslave and Seether will drop in on two festivals: Oct. 15 at the Shiner Bocktoberfest in Shiner, Texas, and Oct. 22 at Buzz Fest XVI in Houston. The lineup for the latter show also features Nickelback, Cold, Fall Out Boy, Our Lady Peace, Institute and Coheed & Cambria.
Beforehand, Seether is on the road in North America with Crossfade and will perform tonight (Aug. 31) in Hampton Beach, N.H.
