It’s important to remember that you’re not alone. Everyone gets insecure, and it’s okay to ask for help. That’s what friends are for, and that’s why Audien and alt-pop trio Echosmith wrote “Favorite Sound,” so that you’d have something uplifting and reassuring to get you through it all.
“Favorite Sound” is a warm, bubbly blanket of melody and emotional honestly. The lyrics are refreshingly open and encouraging. Echosmith’s singer Sydney Sierota assures dancers that you don’t have to apologize for being yourself, and the effervescent hook happily replaces the voices in our heads that would question our inner strength.
“The goal behind ‘Favorite Sound’ was to create something super pretty and meaningful,” Audien tells Billboard Dance. “The lyrics speak to us a lot right now, and I am glad we could put something out that is relevant to us currently. I always work on songs that I connect with, but they typically come out so much later. his song is literally brand new, and I’m feeling it in a big way.”
“Writing this song came so naturally because it comes from such a personal place for me,” Sierota adds. “It started in our home studio in L.A., and it ended up becoming one of my favorite collaborations. The creative process itself felt surprisingly easy, and I love that we were able to give each other really honest input, considering we were all just getting to know each other. I think every good collaboration starts with artists who respect each other’s art and are genuine fans of each other, and it totally felt that way for us.”
“Favorite Sound” is out everywhere Friday, March 8, but you can dance away your doubts a day early, exclusively on Billboard Dance.
