Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich have some words of wisdom for the kids.
In Rookie Magazine’s latest “Ask a Grown Man” vid, the Atoms for Peace duo answered questions from teenage girls across the country about anything from body image to confronting your crush. Throughout the heartwarming 17-minute video, viewers are given all the advice necessary for surviving the teenage years. The two are pretty honest, too. From Godrich’s “seize the day” approach to shyness, to Yorke’s touching story about feeling acceptance in regards to his lazy eye, it’s a video intended to swell a few hearts.
“I worked in this pub and this old woman, she was so funny.” Yorke recounted. “She used to come in all the time. And she was the first person who really said to me, ‘It’s the nicest thing about you.'”
The “Ask a Grown Man” or “Ask a Grown Woman” series has sought out many popular entertainers for past episodes, including Tegan and Sara, Jimmy Fallon, and Judd Apatow.
Yorke and Godrich’s latest project, Atoms for Peace, recently released their debut album, “Amok,” on February 25. The LP debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Aside from Yorke and Godrich, the band also consists of bassist Flea (of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame), percussionist Mauro Refosco, and drummer Joey Waronker.
