Following the death of Geto Boys’ Bushwick Bill on Sunday (June 9) after a battle with pancreatic cancer, a local Atlanta news station paid tribute to the legend with a themed traffic report.
WSBTV’s Mark Arum and Fred Blankenship weaved the news with lyrics from a number of Bushwick Bill tunes, including “Mind Playing Tricks On Me,” “Ever So Clear,” “Little Big Man,” “Copper To Cash” and “Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta.”
“Her name was Crystal, she played the quiet type but she said no big outbound delays,” Arum recites before concluding, “Givin’ it to you straight from the heart of the streets, checking the 575 out of Cherokee and Cobb County.”
Bill “passed away peacefully this evening at 9:35 p.m,” a statement issued Sunday by the late rapper’s publicist read. “His family appreciates all of the prayers and support and are asking for privacy at this time.” He was 52. See the WSBTV tribute below.
