
ASCAP has revealed its full schedule for the upcoming “I Create Music Expo,” with appearances planned by Meghan Trainor, St. Vincent, Jason Mraz and more scheduled for May 7-9 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.
New additions to the 13th annual event also include multi-platinum songwriter and artist Ne-Yo and Grammy-winning artist-producer Jermaine Dupri, joining three days of panels, workshops, master classes, keynotes and one-on-one music industry sessions.
Among Monday’s highlights are the “We Create Music” signature Expo panel presented by Billboard featuring Jason Mraz, Paul Williams and more; a conversation between St. Vincent and 19-year-old Mark Ronson-signee King Princess; and Dupri in an “Under The Hood” production discussion.
On Tuesday, Betty Who, songwriter Priscilla Renea (Rihanna, Miranda Lambert, Madonna), Forbes 30 Under 30 electronic violinist Lindsey Stirling and Kanye West collaborator Gizzle will all participate in a “Renaissance Women in Music” panel; and Ne-Yo will deliver a master session.
On Wednesday, Meghan Trainor and songwriter J Kash will participate in a keynote conversation; and A Tribe Called Quest‘s Ali Shaheed Muhammad and composer Adrian Younge will discuss collaborating on the soundtrack for the Emmy-winning Netflix series Luke Cage in a session called “The Paths of Rhythm: From Producer to Composer.”
Other discussions will range from “The Publisher-Songwriter Relationship” on Monday to “Emo’s Impact on Pop” on Tuesday to “How to Build a Career in Gospel Music” on Wednesday.
