This Super Tuesday (Mar. 3) marks the first time 18-year-old sensation Billie Eilish can vote, and she’s joining the wave of artists making sure their fans are prepared.
“Like a lot of you, I am going to be voting for the first time, and so are you,” she said in a Twitter video posted today in partnership with HeadCount, a non-profit that registers concertgoers and overall music lovers to vote. “And you gotta make sure you’re registered to vote already, preregistered to vote, whatever it is.”
Her brother and producer Finneas shared a more crass message to promote democracy: “vote motherf—ers,” he tweeted.
Janelle Monáe and her Wondaland writing/producing teammate Nate “Rocket” Wonder served “Absentee ballots already sent” looks this morning, per Monáe’s Instagram. The “I Like It” singer also vocalized her particular liking of Senator Elizabeth Warren for the Democratic presidential candidate on her social media, whereas King Princess is casting her vote for Senator Bernie Sanders, a popular pick amongst musicians.
See your favorite artists sounding off on the importance of voting today.
