Jeff Burroughs has been appointed senior VP of urban marketing at Arista/J Records.
In his new position, to be announced Monday (Nov. 19), Burroughs reports to Arista/J executive VP/GM Tom Corson in New York. Burroughs will oversee marketing and artist development for the urban roster, which includes Mario (whose album “Turning Point” is due Dec. 7), Ruben Studdard, Yung Wun, Shawn Kane, Babyface and others.
Burroughs most recently ran his own management/production company, Rise Entertainment, where he worked with Amerie and Q-Tip. Before that, he was executive VP of Bad Boy Entertainment, where he was instrumental in the development of the Notorious B.I.G., P. Diddy, 112 and Faith Evans.
