On Tuesday (July 1), it was announced that Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj are combining for a new single, “Bang Bang,” that is sure to be one of the high-wattage pop singles of the summer when it’s released on July 29. “Bang Bang” will be the lead single for Jessie J’s next album, due out this fall, and will be included on the deluxe edition of Ariana Grande’s sophomore album “My Everything,” which arrives on Aug. 25. Minaj, meanwhile, is set to serve up the follow-up to 2012’s “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” later this year.
With all three music stars dropping new projects after teaming up for a single, pop fans are in for some exciting new music in the coming months. Out of those three albums, however, which one is at the top of your must-have list? Vote now in the poll below to tell us whose new album — Ariana Grande’s, Nicki Minaj’s or Jessie J’s — you’re most looking forward to hearing in full!
Ariana Grande’s follow-up to last year’s “Yours Truly” will feature collaborations with artists like Childish Gambino, the Weeknd, A$AP Ferg and Big Sean. “Problem,” the Iggy Azalea-assisted first single from “My Everything,” has remained at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart for weeks, while follow-up single “Break Free” (featuring Zedd) is set to debut on Wednesday (July 2).
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj has made waves with “Pills N Potions,” her Dr. Luke and Cirkut-produced new single that has peaked at No. 24 on the Hot 100 chart. “Pills N Potions” precedes Minaj’s next full-length, which has yet to receive a title or release date but follows a pair of hits-packed albums for the hip-hop superstar, 2010’s “Pink Friday” and 2012’s “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.”
Finally, Jessie J will make her stateside return later this year after releasing an album, “Alive,” overseas last year. The U.K. singer has Top 40 hits “Price Tag” and “Domino” in her back pocket, and worked with producers Max Martin, Ilya and Savan Kotecha on “Bang Bang.”
