Ariana Grande capped a busy week with a very high-profile gig: Her first NFL national anthem. Her latest album, My Everything, topped the Billboard 200 albums chart this week — her second album to debut at No. 1 in less than a year — and on Thursday (Sept. 4), she sang the national anthem at the first NFL game of the season, between the Seahawks and Packers in Seattle.

She hit the field rocking her enviable ponytail, a bedazzled Seahawks jersey (with matching jeweled earpiece) and — wait for it — jeans. Have we ever seen Grande out of her signature skirts or performance bodysuits? The laid-back look perfectly complemented her easy-breezy rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner. Even when she’s hitting the most difficult high notes, she makes it all seem simple.
This is hardly Grande’s first time tackling the patriotic song. In fact, check out the video below of the singer at only 8 years old (and under the name Ariana Grande-Butera) performing the anthem at a Florida Panthers hockey game:
Before Thursday’s game, Pharrell Williams and Soundgarden also performed, entertaining fans outside Seattle’s CenturyLink Field before kickoff.
