Ariana Grande‘s second album, My Everything, boasted production from buzzy Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat, who nabbed a “featured” credit on “Be My Baby.”
Now, Grande is returning the favor, signing up to be a featured artist on Cashmere Cat’s new song, “Adore.” But don’t let the “feature” throw you: This song is 100 percent an Ariana Grande vocal showcase.
Aching with desire, Grande’s heartfelt vocals are a great counterpoint to the chilly synths and oddball R&B beats of Cashmere Cat’s production. Plus, it’s a treat to hear her voice over music that’s ever-so-slightly stranger than what she’d put on her own album.
