Ariana Grande’s Arianators are pushing past some of music’s biggest fandoms because they’re just so into her. The pop diva’s army barely made their way to this week’s semifinal round of Billboard’s Fan Army Face-Off, thanks to a few hundred fans.
In their fight to put the “Dangerous Woman” on top, Arianators first dominated round 1 with 207,284 votes, beating out Meghan Trainor’s Megatronz. In round 2, the pop world collided with the hip-hop world as Arianators faced Nicki Minaj’s Barbz. The victory was smaller in comparison to their round 1 wipeout, but the pop artist’s fans still managed 40,000 more votes than the Barbz.
In their closest face-off, Grande’s fandom took on Demi Lovato’s Lovatics. The Arianators were on “Honeymoon Avenue” after proving themselves as more devoted, but only with 260 votes. The following round, Grande’s fans had no time to rest as they took on Beyonce’s Beyhive. After going back and forth for the lead, Arianators came in full force in their final moments, winning by 623 votes.
In the current round of Billboard’s Fan Army Face-Off, the Arianators will have to beat out Thirty Seconds to Mars’ charitable Echelon. Pre-semifinals, the Echelon has casted 708,924 votes in comparison to the Arianators’ 595,124. Grande’s fans have also lost momentum along the way, with 207,284 votes in round 1 and only 81,834 votes by round 4. The pop star does famously sing “’Cause if you want to keep me, you gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta, got to love me harder,” but will Arianators listen?
