Aretha Franklin has been hospitalized since Saturday for an undisclosed ailment and is in stable condition.
Her publicist declined to say in what facility the Queen of Soul, who lives in Detroit, is receiving treatment and offered no information about Franklin’s illness or how long she would be hospitalized.
The legendary singer turns 62 on Thursday (March 25). Last month, she won a Grammy Award for best traditional R&B vocal performance for “Wonderful” from her 2002 Arista album, “So Damn Happy.”
The only live performance date on Franklin’s itinerary is an April 20 concert at B.B. King’s Blues Club in New York.Copyright 2004 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
