The Reflektor Tapes, Arcade Fire’s documentary on the Canadian rockers’ mesmerizing, chart-topping Reflektor, is about to enjoy its wide cinematic release. Billboard has an early glimpse into the 75-minute film with an exclusive first-look at “Here Comes The Nighttime.“
The feature earned its premiere earlier this month at the Toronto Film Festival. Directed by rising newcomer Kahlil Joseph, Reflektor Tapes is “an audiovisual overload of quick cuts and overlapping sounds covering the Montreal ensemble’s fourth and latest album, 2013’s Reflektor,” Billboard’s Karen Bliss reported from the fest.
Reflektor Tapes shuffles through Jamaica, Haiti, Los Angeles, London and the band’s hometown. It opens in theaters on Sept. 23. Head here to see if it’s playing in a theater near you and buy tickets.
“It’s almost like a remix record,” frontman Win Butler recently told Billboard, “just in its way of thinking about film, thinking about our music.”

2. “Women of a Certain Age”
3. “Flashbulb Eyes (Dennis Bovell remix ft. Linton Kwesi Johnson)”
4. “Soft Power”
5. “Get Right”
6. “Crucified Again”
Finally, a 7-inch vinyl single of “Get Right” b/w “Crucified Again” will be released on Merge/Sonovox the same day as the Reflektor deluxe digital release. The two tracks are currently streaming via TIDAL.
