This September, Apple Music subscribers will notice a new playlist from the streaming service, built off what their friends have been listening to.
The new “Friends Mix” playlists are currently in beta testing and available only to Apple Music subscribers running beta versions of iOS 12, macOS Mojave, or tvOS 12.
The playlist pulls 25 songs from users’ friends they’re following’s listening history, based on what the algorithm thinks that user will like. It will be updated with new songs every Monday.
This is the fourth personalized collection on Apple Music and puts the service on track to deliver a new customized playlist almost daily, joining the Favorites mix on Tuesdays, the New Music mix on Fridays and the Chill mix on Sundays.
