While it’s been a particularly slow period for major album releases — the “Frozen” soundtrack has been No. 1 for 13 weeks! — some of music’s biggest stars are slowly but surely cranking out new full-lengths, with a few (hopefully) seeing release before 2014 comes to a close. There are female pop superstars like Adele and Madonna working on new music, hip-hop giants like Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and Lil Wayne preparing their official returns, and Foo Fighters, Frank Ocean and Taylor Swift representing rock, R&B and country, respectively. We can’t wait for all of their next albums — but which one is your most anticipated?

Last week, Adele teased her next full-length on Twitter, sending fans into a frenzy about the possibility of a new album, “25,” hitting stores by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Madonna’s “MDNA” follow-up is slowly taking shape, with collaborators including Diplo and Avicii recently joining Madge in the studio. Speaking of Madonna collaborators, Nicki Minaj is readying the follow-up to 2012’s blockbuster sophomore LP “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” recently dropping new songs like “Lookin’ Ass” and “Yasss Bish!!” to get fans salivating.
Minaj’s Young Money boss, Lil Wayne, is getting set to drop “Tha Carter V,” which has yet to receive a release date but has a lead single, “Believe Me,” featuring Lil Wayne. Weezy’s frequent collaborator, Kanye West, is quickly finishing a follow-up to last year’s “Yeezus,” expected to drop in mid-2014 with production from Rick Rubin and Q-Tip. And last month, Frank Ocean announced that the sequel to “Channel Orange,” which was nominated for album of the year in 2013, is nearly finished.

The Foo Fighters took something of a prolonged studio break after 2011’s “Wasting Light,” but appear to be back in the studio saddle, teasing Album No. 8 last January. Last but not least, Taylor Swift’s fifth album could be coming quickly — the follow-up to “Red” has been in the works for some time, and could well be out before the end of the year.
