Dutch pop singer Anouk (EMI) and Belgian act Natalia (Ariola) walked away with the most awards at the seventh 2005 TMF Awards show.
Anouk picked up three awards for Best International Artist, Best Album and Best Video. Belgian pop star Natalia received the awards for both Best National Album and Best Album of the Year.
In the international section, Reprise act Green Day won in the Best Rock category and Black Eyed Peas (Interscope) took the Best Urban Awards.
In the new category, Best Ringtone Award, Belgian dance act Dave Mc Cullen (A&S Productions) was awarded for the ringtone adapted from his single “Bitch.”
The show, organised by Viacom-owned music channel TMF, was staged at the 15,000-capacity Antwerp Sportpaleis venue Oct. 1.
The sold-out show was broadcast live on the TMF/MTV TV network in Belgium. It featured live performances by international acts such as The Sugababes (Island) and Jamie Cullum (UCJ), as well as from local artists Lasgo (A&E) and Admiral FreeBee (Polydor).
The nominations and winners were selected by the viewers of TMF/MTV, which was created in 2001 when MTV Networks took over TMF Vlaanderen, operator of the TMF channel in the Netherlands and Belgium’s Flemish region.
