In the final trailer for Annie, the orphan’s long-lost parents are actually a major presence.
“Please take care of our baby — her name’s Annie,” reads Quvenzhane Wallis as the title character. “There’s half a locket around her neck so when we come for her, you know she’s our girl.”
And when Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne reveal that they may have found the semi-adopted girl’s birth parents, Jamie Foxx (as Benjamin Stacks, an update on the Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks character) starts to reconsider Annie’s importance in his life as more than just a way to pump up his mayoral candidacy in the public eye (despite her cooking choices). We also get to see Foxx play piano and hear some of Sia’s “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.”

Will Gluck’s re-imagining of the movie-musical also stars Cameron Diaz as the mean-spirited orphanage owner Miss Hannigan. The film, produced by Jay Z and Will Smith, hits theaters Dec. 19.
The cast debuted the trailer on Monday while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Watch the final trailer below.
