Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard’s new series that showcases artists’ very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard’s Spotify account. The curated set features the artists’ favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.
This week’s spin comes from Anne-Marie. The rising U.K. star and Marshmello collaborator released her debut LP Speak Your Mind last month via Warner Bros. Records, featuring past singles like “Heavy” “Then” and her Ed Sheeran co-written cut “2002.” The British singer feted the release with performances on “Live With Kelly and Ryan” and “The Late Late Show With James Corden.”
Today, the Essex-bred upstart looks back, with this week’s #TBT Mixtape, inspired by her “carefree” teenage years, and featuring Kelis, Avril Lavigne, Brandy and more.
“I often still listen to this music cause it reminds me of those years,” she tells Billboard. “There are so many good memories – every song makes me feel good. Paul Weller was played a lot around the house when I was younger. If it wasn’t for my parents I wouldn’t know his music which is amazing… that’s why I wanna show my kids (one day!) all this music too.”
