Angelica Cob-Baehler, EMI’s Executive Vice President of Media & Creative Services, is leaving the company to take on a key role in LA Reid’s new regime at Epic, sources tell Billboard.biz.
In a memo to the company’s staff this morning, EMI’s GM Greg Thompson wrote:
It’s a mark of the success that we and our artists have been having lately that the other majors seem to spend most of their time trying to persuade our amazing staff to join them. The unfortunate thing is that sometimes they succeed! With that in mind, I’m sorry to say that Angelica Cob-Baehler, Executive Vice President of Publicity & Creative Services, is leaving EMI. We’ll be making an announcement on her leaving date shortly.
Angelica joined EMI in 2006, and has played an important role in the teams supporting many of our fantastic artists including 30 Seconds To Mars, Katy Perry, KT Tunstall and A Fine Frenzy. After five years with EMI, she’s leaving to take a great new role, and she departs with all our best wishes for the future.
Happily, Geli’s greatest achievement during her time with EMI is the incredible team that she has built. This team, which handles our artwork, grassroots marketing, video production, publicity and creative for our artists, is second-to-none in the business. It’s this group that’s helped The Decemberists and Amos Lee to the top of the album charts this year, that’s been integral to helping Katy score five number ones from Teenage Dream, and that’s so successfully launched the new Guetta album in the last week. I know that I speak for everyone at the company when I say how proud I am of the whole marketing, publicity and wider creative team here at EMI, and I know that they’re going to continue the great work that we’ve seen from them on all of our recent high-profile campaigns.
Please join me in congratulating Angelica on her new role!
Best wishes
LA Reid took the helm at Epic early in the summer.
