Angel Music Group has completed the structure of its A&R team with the recruitment of classical music specialist Jacky Schroer as A&R executive.
Based in London, Schroer will focus on A&R for the Angel and EMI Classics labels, with immediate effect.
She joins the major from Universal Music division Decca Music Group, where she has held the title as A&R executive, crossover, since January 2002. During that time, Schroer contributed to the global success of New Zealand-born singer Hayley Westenra, for whom she served in the role as co-executive producer. Schroer also signed songwriter and violinist Sophie Solomon, worked on Bond albums and was A&R executive producer for the David Garrett upcoming album.
She will report to Mark Collen, senior VP EMI Music U.K. and Ireland.
In other news, Alexa Pentecost has been named press & promotions manager, reporting to Thomas Kaurich, head of EMI Classics U.K. Pentecost, until recently, worked in the press office of Select Music and Video Distribution Ltd.
Collen took the reins in May 2005 as senior VP of Angel Label Group, which pools together the EMI Classics U.K., Innocent and Angel labels.
