If ever there was a tune begging for a drum’n’bass remix, it’s Pegboard Nerds‘ “Speed of Light.” The Nerds of Nature EP cut is synth-heavy and full of energy at a tempo that could easily rock some a banging beat, but the original keeps things airy and whimsical.
Andy C heard the tune and instantly thought, “Yes, I can do something with this.” His take is dreamy as ever but grounded in a heavy kick and rolling bassline that shoots the tune to new heights. It’s got a cute little video, too, which makes really great use of clouds and high-speed video footage.
“I absolutely loved bringing this into the DnB world,” Andy C says in an emailed statement. “Such a beautiful soundscape to work with from the guys, I knew as soon as I heard it that I wanted to remix the track. To top it off, the video is a stunning marriage of visuals and vibes. I’m very honoured to be part of the whole project.”
