Andrew W.K. has just announced a new radio show called America W.K., not such an unusual move considering multi-hyphenate rocker has, among other things, written an advice column for the Village Voice since January 2014. The more surprising part of the announcement was that the show will air on Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze radio network, which has previously hosted personalities like Sean Hannity and Pastor Ken Hutcherson.
W.K., whose column has addressed questions like “How do I show religious freaks that science wins?” and “How do I make my family understand that I’m transgender?” will now be hosting a “raw and penetrating discussion of what it is to be alive” on his weekly two-hour show, according to the press release. Beck is excited about this opportunity for W.K. to address “motivation, mindset, and making dreams come true,” saying, “My relationship with Andrew W.K. is a perfect example of how two people can come together on what unites us, and become strange bedfellows.”
Bedfellows or not, the partnership will, at the very least, make for some interesting conversation. W.K. is prepared — after all, he responded to this question from a perplexed advice-seeker: “How can I talk to my bigoted friend?”
America W.K. debuts this Saturday (May 2) on TheBlaze.
